Description

Almond Joy Magic Cookie Bars are a delicious and easy-to-make dessert featuring layers of graham cracker crust, shredded coconut, chocolate chips, chopped almonds, and sweetened condensed milk baked to perfection. These bars are perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth and make a great treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Toppings and Layers

  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup chopped almonds (toasted if desired)
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper, leaving some overhang to easily lift the bars out later.
  2. Prepare the crust: In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs with the melted butter, mixing thoroughly until the mixture is evenly moistened. Press this mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan to create the crust layer.
  3. Layer the toppings: Evenly sprinkle the shredded coconut over the crust, then add the chocolate chips and chopped almonds, spreading them out to cover the surface. Lightly sprinkle the salt over the top.
  4. Add the condensed milk: Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over all the layers to help bind them. Use a spatula to gently spread the milk if necessary for even coverage.
  5. Bake the bars: Place the pan in the oven and bake for 25–30 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown and the center is completely set.
  6. Cool and slice: Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, use the parchment overhang to lift the entire block out and slice into 24 bars for serving.

Notes

  • Toasted almonds add extra crunch and enhance the flavor of the bars.
  • For a richer chocolate flavor, substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips with dark chocolate chips.
  • Store the bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days or refrigerate for prolonged freshness.
