Description

These Apple Fritter Bites are a delicious treat perfect for fall or anytime you’re craving a sweet, cinnamon-spiced dessert. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and drizzled with a sweet glaze, these little bites of apple goodness are sure to please your taste buds.

Ingredients

Scale

Dry Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Wet Ingredients:

  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter (melted)

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups finely chopped apples (peeled, such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • For the glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  3. Apple Mixture: Fold in the chopped apples.
  4. Frying: Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C). Drop heaping tablespoons of batter into the hot oil, frying 4–5 at a time. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side, turning as needed, until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Glaze: For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Dip each fritter bite into the glaze or drizzle over the top. Let set for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can use a small cookie scoop for evenly sized fritters.
  • For a thicker glaze, use less milk; for a thinner drizzle, add a bit more.
  • Best served warm but can be reheated in the oven.
