Carrots:
- 2 pounds carrots, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch slices or baby carrots
Glaze:
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
Garnish:
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- Cook Carrots: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the carrots and cook for 6–8 minutes, or until just tender. Drain and set aside.
- Make Glaze: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar, salt, pepper, and cinnamon if using. Cook for 1–2 minutes, until the mixture is smooth and slightly bubbling.
- Glaze Carrots: Add the cooked carrots to the skillet and toss to coat evenly in the glaze. Cook for another 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the carrots are fully glazed and heated through.
- Serve: Transfer to a serving dish, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, try adding a splash of orange juice or maple syrup to the glaze.
- This dish can also be made in advance and gently reheated before serving.
