Ingredients
Scale
For the Steak Bites
- 1 lb sirloin steak (or your choice of steak), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp butter
For the Rotini Pasta
- 8 oz rotini pasta (or any pasta shape of your choice)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Steak Bites: In a bowl, season the bite-sized steak pieces with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Cook the Rotini Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.
- Create the Cheese Sauce: In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine. Allow it to simmer gently for 2-3 minutes to thicken.
- Add Cheeses and Combine: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and shredded mozzarella until fully melted and smooth. Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine Pasta and Steak: Add the cooked rotini pasta and steak bites back into the skillet with the cheese sauce. Toss everything gently to coat evenly and heat through for 1-2 minutes.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley, and serve immediately while hot for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Choose a tender cut of steak like sirloin or ribeye for best results.
- Be careful not to overcook the steak bites to keep them juicy and tender.
- You can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter sauce, though it will be less rich.
- For added flavor, consider adding a splash of white wine or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; reheat gently to avoid drying out the steak and sauce.
