Description

Delicious and wholesome Chocolate Chip Banana Bars made with ripe bananas, creamy peanut butter, and sweet maple syrup, blended with oats and melted with chocolate chips, perfect for a healthy snack or breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Add-ins

  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas thoroughly and mix in the peanut butter, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
  3. Add Dry Ingredients: Stir in the rolled oats, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt into the wet mixture, mixing until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  4. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold the chocolate chips into the batter to distribute them evenly without melting.
  5. Pour Batter into Pan: Transfer the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
  6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes until the bars turn golden brown and are set in the center.
  7. Cool and Slice: Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before slicing into 12 servings.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for sweeter and moister bars.
  • Peanut butter adds protein and creaminess; alternatively, almond or cashew butter can be used.
  • Maple syrup provides natural sweetness, but honey or agave syrup can be substituted.
  • Make sure to cool completely to avoid bars falling apart when sliced.
  • Store bars in an airtight container for up to 3 days or refrigerate for extended freshness.
