Description

These Grinch Christmas Truffles are a festive, no-bake holiday treat made with crushed golden Oreos mixed with cream cheese and vibrant green food coloring, coated in smooth white chocolate, and topped with red heart sprinkles for a fun and delicious Christmas dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Mixture

  • 1 (14-ounce) package golden Oreos, crushed into fine crumbs
  • 6 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green gel food coloring, as needed for desired shade

Coating and Decoration

  • 12 ounces white chocolate or white candy melts
  • Red heart sprinkles
  • Holiday sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oreo Mixture: In a food processor, pulse the golden Oreos into fine crumbs. Transfer the crumbs to a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix Dough: Add the softened cream cheese and vanilla extract to the Oreo crumbs. Stir until a smooth, uniform dough forms.
  3. Add Color: Gradually add green gel food coloring a little at a time, mixing thoroughly until you achieve the desired Grinch-like green color.
  4. Shape Truffles: Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. Chill: Freeze the shaped truffles for 15 to 20 minutes to firm up before coating.
  6. Melt Chocolate: While the truffles chill, melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between each until melted and smooth.
  7. Coat Truffles: Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess chocolate to drip off, then return them to the parchment-lined sheet.
  8. Add Sprinkles: Before the chocolate coating sets, decorate each truffle with a red heart sprinkle and additional holiday sprinkles if desired.
  9. Set Chocolate: Allow the chocolate coating to fully set at room temperature or in the refrigerator before serving or storing.

Notes

  • Use gel food coloring to achieve vibrant green color without thinning the truffle mixture.
  • Store truffles in the refrigerator for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 1 month.
