Description

These juicy Herby Greek Chicken Meatballs are bursting with Mediterranean flavors. Made with a blend of fresh herbs, feta cheese, and aromatic spices, these meatballs are versatile and perfect for a quick and flavorful meal.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Meatballs:

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried mint
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, red onion, garlic, parsley, dill, oregano, mint, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, breadcrumbs, feta cheese, and egg. Mix until fully combined but do not overwork the meat.
  2. Using damp hands, form the mixture into 1 to 1.5-inch meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
  4. Cook the meatballs for 4–5 minutes per side, turning to brown all over, until cooked through and golden. Internal temperature should reach 165°F.
  5. Remove from skillet and let rest for a few minutes before serving. Serve with tzatziki sauce, pita, or over a Greek salad.

Notes

  • These meatballs can be baked at 400°F for 18–20 minutes if preferred.
  • Fresh herbs provide the best flavor, but dried herbs can be substituted using one-third the amount.
  • Great for meal prep and freezing.
