Ingredients
Scale
For the Margarita
- 2 ounces silver tequila
- 1 ounce triple sec or orange liqueur
- 1 ounce fresh lime juice
- 1.5 ounces mango puree or nectar
- 1 teaspoon hot honey (or more to taste)
- Ice
For the Glass
- Tajín seasoning (for rimming glass)
- Lime wedge and mango slice for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Rim the Glass: Take a lime wedge and run it along the rim of your glass to moisten it. Then, dip the rim into Tajín seasoning to coat it evenly. Fill the glass with ice and set it aside.
- Combine Ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, pour 2 ounces of silver tequila, 1 ounce of triple sec, 1 ounce of fresh lime juice, 1.5 ounces of mango puree, and 1 teaspoon of hot honey.
- Add Ice and Shake: Add a handful of ice cubes to the shaker. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds until the mixture is well-chilled and combined.
- Strain and Serve: Strain the chilled mixture into the prepared glass filled with fresh ice. This ensures a smooth drink without ice shards.
- Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish your margarita with a lime wedge or a slice of mango if desired. Serve immediately for the best flavor and experience.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of hot honey to control the spice level according to your preference.
- For a frozen version, blend all ingredients with 1 cup of ice until smooth instead of shaking.
- If hot honey is unavailable, substitute with agave syrup and a pinch of chili flakes to mimic the sweet-heat flavor.
