- 1 pound ground beef or lamb
- 1 small onion, finely grated
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh mint
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Mix the Kofta Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, grated onion, garlic, parsley, mint, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, paprika, cayenne (if using), salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly with your hands.
- Shape the Koftas: Divide the mixture into portions and shape into ovals or cylinders around skewers, or form into patties.
- Cook the Koftas: Heat olive oil in a grill pan or skillet. Cook the koftas for 3–4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
- Serve: Enjoy hot with rice, flatbread, or salad, and a side of yogurt or tahini sauce.
