Description

These Mini Breakfast Sliders are a delightful combination of cheesy, savory scrambled eggs, ham or sausage, and melted cheese nestled inside sweet Hawaiian rolls. Baked to perfection with a buttery maple glaze, they make a perfect breakfast or brunch treat that’s easy to prepare and irresistible to eat.

Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 1 package Hawaiian rolls (12-count, not separated)
  • 6 large eggs, scrambled and cooked
  • 6 slices cooked ham or cooked breakfast sausage patties
  • 6 slices cheddar or American cheese

Glaze

  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • ½ tsp Dijon mustard (optional for balance)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a baking dish to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare the rolls: Carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally while keeping them connected as a whole, then place the bottom half in the baking dish as the base.
  3. Layer the fillings: Evenly layer the scrambled eggs, cooked ham or sausage slices, and cheese slices over the bottom half of the rolls, ensuring good coverage for flavor in every bite.
  4. Top the sliders: Place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls over the layered fillings, creating a sandwich-like structure.
  5. Make and apply the glaze: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, maple syrup, and Dijon mustard (if using). Brush this glaze generously over the tops of the roll tops to add sweetness and a golden finish.
  6. Bake the sliders: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes to heat the ingredients through and melt the cheese. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes to brown the tops lightly.
  7. Serve warm: Remove from oven, slice into individual sliders, and serve warm for a delicious breakfast or brunch.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute the ham or sausage with turkey or bacon according to your preference.
  • If you prefer, you can use other types of cheese such as Swiss or pepper jack for a different flavor profile.
  • For a vegetarian option, omit the meat and add sautéed vegetables or a plant-based sausage alternative.
  • Make sure to brush the glaze evenly for a beautiful shiny finish and balanced sweetness.
  • These sliders can be prepared a day ahead and baked fresh in the morning for convenience.
