Ingredients
Scale
Sliders
- 1 package Hawaiian rolls (12-count, not separated)
- 6 large eggs, scrambled and cooked
- 6 slices cooked ham or cooked breakfast sausage patties
- 6 slices cheddar or American cheese
Glaze
- 2 tbsp butter, melted
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- ½ tsp Dijon mustard (optional for balance)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a baking dish to prevent sticking.
- Prepare the rolls: Carefully slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally while keeping them connected as a whole, then place the bottom half in the baking dish as the base.
- Layer the fillings: Evenly layer the scrambled eggs, cooked ham or sausage slices, and cheese slices over the bottom half of the rolls, ensuring good coverage for flavor in every bite.
- Top the sliders: Place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls over the layered fillings, creating a sandwich-like structure.
- Make and apply the glaze: In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, maple syrup, and Dijon mustard (if using). Brush this glaze generously over the tops of the roll tops to add sweetness and a golden finish.
- Bake the sliders: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes to heat the ingredients through and melt the cheese. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes to brown the tops lightly.
- Serve warm: Remove from oven, slice into individual sliders, and serve warm for a delicious breakfast or brunch.
Notes
- Feel free to substitute the ham or sausage with turkey or bacon according to your preference.
- If you prefer, you can use other types of cheese such as Swiss or pepper jack for a different flavor profile.
- For a vegetarian option, omit the meat and add sautéed vegetables or a plant-based sausage alternative.
- Make sure to brush the glaze evenly for a beautiful shiny finish and balanced sweetness.
- These sliders can be prepared a day ahead and baked fresh in the morning for convenience.
