Puff Pastry:
1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
Spinach Mixture:
1 cup fresh spinach (chopped), 1/2 cup ricotta cheese, 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1 garlic clove (minced), 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon olive oil
Additional:
1 egg (beaten, for egg wash), sesame seeds or poppy seeds for topping (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare Spinach Mixture: Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté garlic, add spinach, cook until wilted. Remove, cool slightly, then mix with ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- Assemble: Roll out puff pastry, spread spinach and cheese mixture over half, cover with the other half, press gently to seal. Slice into strips, twist, and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake: Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle seeds if desired, bake for 15-18 minutes until golden.
- Serve: Serve warm.
