Ingredients
Scale
Bread Ring
- 20 Rhodes frozen rolls
- Melted butter for brushing
Dip Filling
- 8-9 oz package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained
- 14 oz artichokes from a jar or can, well drained and chopped
- 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1 1/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 tsp minced garlic (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder)
- 1/2 tsp basil
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Prepare Pans: Generously coat two 9-inch round pans with melted butter or nonstick spray. Position a 6-inch bowl upside down in the center of each pan to create a ring shape for the rolls.
- Arrange and Rise Rolls: Place ten frozen rolls evenly around each upside-down bowl. Lightly spritz the rolls with cooking spray and cover loosely with plastic wrap. Drape a towel over both pans and let them sit in a warm area until the rolls double in size, approximately 2 to 3 hours.
- Prepare Spinach and Artichokes: Thoroughly drain excess water from the thawed spinach and artichokes, then chop the artichokes well. Set aside for the dip mixture.
- Mix the Dip: In a large bowl, blend together cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, salt, black pepper, minced garlic, basil, and red pepper flakes until smooth and combined. Fold in the chopped spinach and artichokes. Refrigerate the mixture while the rolls rise.
- Preheat Oven: Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C) preparing for baking the assembled bread rings.
- Fill the Centers: Once the rolls have risen, remove the bowls from the center of each pan. Spoon half of the spinach artichoke mixture into the center space created by the removed bowl in each pan.
- Brush Rolls: Brush each individual roll generously with melted butter to promote browning and flavor.
- Bake: Place the pans in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 28 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and serve warm for a comforting, cheesy bread ring with spinach artichoke dip.
Notes
- Ensure to squeeze out as much water as possible from spinach to avoid a soggy filling.
- The bowl placed upside down creates a perfect ring shape for the rolls.
- Use fresh garlic if preferred, or garlic powder as an alternative.
- Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated gently in the oven.
