Description

This recipe for Super Easy Ground Beef Tacos is a quick and flavorful way to enjoy a classic Mexican-inspired meal. Combining lean ground beef with a robust blend of spices, these tacos are perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner. Warm tortillas and your favorite toppings make this dish customizable and family-friendly.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For Serving

  • Tortillas (quantity as needed)
  • Your favorite taco toppings (such as shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, salsa) to taste

Instructions

  1. Warm the tortillas: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Stack the tortillas, wrap them in aluminum foil, and place them in the oven to warm. Alternatively, use a tortilla warmer or gently heat the tortillas over a gas stove burner. Meanwhile, prepare the toppings or get them ready while the beef cooks.
  2. Cook the ground beef: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and begin breaking it up with a spoon. Once the beef starts cooking, sprinkle in the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, ground cumin, and chili powder. Stir occasionally and cook for 8-10 minutes until the beef is fully cooked and browned.
  3. Adjust seasoning and drain fat: If there is excess fat rendered from the beef, carefully spoon it out. Taste the meat and adjust the seasoning as needed, adding more smoked paprika or salt and pepper if desired. Note that chili powder often contains salt, so add salt cautiously.
  4. Assemble and serve: Serve the spiced ground beef warm on the heated tortillas with your favorite toppings. Enjoy your easy and delicious ground beef tacos!

Notes

  • Using lean ground beef helps reduce excess fat, making the tacos healthier.
  • You can customize toppings according to your preferences, including avocado, cilantro, lime juice, or hot sauce.
  • To make the recipe gluten-free, use corn tortillas instead of flour tortillas.
  • Adjust spice levels by modifying the amount of chili powder or adding fresh jalapeños for heat.
  • Leftover beef can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and used in burritos, salads, or nachos.
